Which child seats are available for my children's ages?
Child seats are available for ¥1,000 per seat.
Four seat types are available on advance request: Rear-facing infant seat (Typical age reference · 0 – 1 year), Forward-facing toddler seat (Typical age reference · 1 – 3 years), Forward-facing child seat (Typical age reference · 3 – 6 years), Booster seat (Typical age reference · 6 – 12 years).
Tell us each child's age and any relevant height, weight or current seating direction.
These are Octoshell Japan booking references, not legal age bands; our team confirms fit, quantity and availability before booking.
Can a wheelchair user travel in your vehicles?
You may bring your own folding wheelchair or request one Octoshell Japan folding manual wheelchair for ¥2,000 per transfer.
The rental is for use only during that booked transportation service and requires advance Operations confirmation.
The passenger must transfer to a standard vehicle seat; current vehicles have no wheelchair ramp, lift or in-vehicle restraint system.
Fit depends on passengers and luggage, and physical transfer assistance is not guaranteed.
Can a pet and a child travel in the same vehicle?
Pets must stay in a secure carrier or crate throughout the trip; they can share the vehicle with children.

Can a Japanese taxi take four large suitcases?
Do not assume it will.
Capacity varies by taxi model and passenger count, and luggage placed on seats reduces usable seating.
For four travellers with four large cases, a pre-booked Alphard or Toyota HiAce Grand Cabin with the complete load confirmed is the safer plan.
Can I bring a stroller, wheelchair, bike case, golf bag or skis?
Often yes, but special items are not ordinary suitcases.
A customer-owned folding wheelchair or the Octoshell Japan rental wheelchair uses luggage space, so fit depends on passenger count, all bags and the actual folded item.
The Octoshell Japan wheelchair is ¥2,000 per transfer and subject to advance confirmation.
Current vehicles have no wheelchair ramps, lifts or in-vehicle restraint systems; the passenger must transfer to a standard seat.
Can I take oversized luggage on the Shinkansen?
On the Tokaido, Sanyo, Kyushu and Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, baggage with three sides totalling 161–250 cm requires a reserved seat with an oversized-baggage area.
Items over 250 cm cannot be brought aboard.
